How we help you

We are here to help you with your worries, troubles, anger and anything else that is getting in the way of you just being happy. It is a place to talk about the big things that might be causing you to get upset or feel bad. Sometimes the big things might be because of school, family or friends. Or it may be that you just don’t know why you feel the way you do.

Time To Listen has counsellors to suit everyone. Our counsellors are friendly, kind and honest and one of them will be there each week to listen to what’s going on for you. They won’t tell you what to do, or take sides or tell your parents what you have been saying. 

The rooms that we use when we meet you are warm, cosy and welcoming where hopefully you will feel safe so that you can talk about your problems. Talking to your counsellor about what matters to you, can help make sense of all the worries you have. We understand that sometimes talking is too much and so it might be better for you to play or paint or drum or dance or find some other way to show us how you feel. You may even find that you are having fun whilst you work through your worries. Having this time and space to share your troubles can improve how you feel about yourself, and others who are in your life.
