Ellie Aistrop

Hi, I’m Ellie a person-centred Associate Counsellor for Time to Listen. In my spare time I usually spend this with my dog Kenny, who loves to go for long walks on the beach and play fetch. I am a huge Swiftie, so I am always listening to Taylor Swift or watching the Eras tour. My favourite games to play at Time to Listen are Dobble and UNO. My favourite colours are yellow and orange, because they remind me of the sunset, which makes me feel happy and calm.

Michaela Kendall
Associate Counsellor
Hello, My name is Michaela and I am one of the therapists at Time to Listen. Here are some fun facts about me… I love to read and my favourite books of all time are the Harry Potter series. My favourite exercise is yoga and climbing, (I used to work in a summer camp in America climbing trees and zip lining down - so fun!). At Time to Listen I love to get crafty in our art room or play fun games in our play room and I get lots of opportunity to play (yay). I talk a lot about big feelings with the children I work with and one of my favourite ways to understand those tricky feelings is through role playing each feeling (a bit like Inside Out), because I know we can all struggle with big feelings sometimes (even adults). I always enjoy meeting new faces and starting new therapy journeys.
Ruth Scott
Associate Counsellor

Hello, my name is Ruth and when I’m not working at Time to Listen, I spend lots of time singing and writing songs. I love music and singing, when I’m at home and cooking in my kitchen I often close the door, blast out my favourite karaoke tracks and dance around while singing into a wooden spoon 😊

I have a child of my own, and love to go to the park and try to fit on the swings and slides, and he laughs when I fall off. I look forward to meeting you and hearing about you. Let's get a board game out, or some building blocks, or kick a soft ball around!

I enjoy the outdoors — hiking, camping, paddleboarding, and especially swimming in the sea or rivers. I once even parachuted off a mountain! I also love cake (any kind!) and a good chat, so if you see me around in the corridor, feel free to say hi — I’m always happy to say hello and give a big smile back.

I love a game of uno and dobble (although its rare that I manage to win!)
I’m petrified of rides, so I avoid these when I am at Hull fair, instead I get the important job of holding the bags and coats.
I love to be outside, I love nothing more than going on nice long walks. I enjoy gardening and have recently managed to grow some of my own vegetables, although the slugs enjoyed the majority of them!
When I’m alone I enjoy dancing round my kitchen to my favourite songs.

When I'm not at Time to Listen, you'll probably find me out running in the countryside. This is when I have all my best ideas. There's nothing like being out in the fresh air and having the chance to spot some wildlife. I've seen everything from rabbits to deer! Sometimes a robin pops up on the path in front of me. I love running to the beat of my favourite music, whether it's rock, pop or anything in between. Sometimes, my Labrador, Willow, comes with me. She's much faster than I am, though!
I also enjoy relaxing by the sea. I love searching for fossils, paddling in the water or going for a long walk along the shore. In the evenings, I unwind with a good book before bed and I like playing the piano when I have the chance. My absolute favourite treat is a flapjack with a nice cup of tea! I can’t wait to meet you and find out all about you, too.
